The WHO, WHERE, WHAT & WHY???
WHO is the creator & designer of LUV WRAPS? Jo Carter - Deathwalker, Shroud Artisan, & weaver of quiet magic
Jo carries a lifetime of creativity in her back pocket (alongside bits of thread, glitter, fluff & more often than not, brilliant ideas that arrive at 3am). Her hands have danced through costume design, whimsical doll artistry, painting, & mixed media β¦ & now, they turn toward one of lifeβs most sacred garments.
Creating a shroud isnβt just making something beautiful β¦ itβs storytelling in fabric. Itβs essence-catching. Itβs soul-dressing.
Whether you envision something as simple as a quite whisper or bold enough to make the ancestors raise an eyebrow in admiration, Jo works with you to craft a final wrap that feels deeply, unmistakably YOU. Think of it as YOUR last garment β¦ YOUR final curtain call.
She is also a Deathwalker with Go With the Joβs, gently guiding & supporting people through the tender journey of end-of-life care.
WHERE is Jo located? Nestled in Te Puna, Tauranga, New Zealand. From this little pocket of paradise, Jo sends her creations out far & wide. Worldwide commissions are accepted.
WHAT is a Shroud? A burial or cremation shroud is a biodegradable cloth made from natural fibres such as linen, cotton, wool, or silk.
But truthfully β¦ itβs more than cloth. Itβs family hands gently tucking, smoothing, & saying goodbye in a way that feels intimate & real. Wrapped with LOVE, returned to NATURE. Itβs an alternative to the polished boxes & heavy footprints of traditional burial β¦ a softer, gentler farewell that honours both the person & the earth.
WHY? Shrouds are eco-friendly, often more affordable, & open the door to something deeply personal. They invite creativity, ritual, healing & meaning back into this sacred moment. Letβs be honest β¦ if thereβs ever a moment to express yourself fully, this is it. Your farewell doesnβt have to be beige. It can be soulful, symbolic, a little wild, a little weird, a little wonderful or a lot Magical. After all β¦ this is YOUR grand finale, YOUR big day, so why not do it YOUR way.
